Patagonia ‘Worn Wear’ Magazine Ad

The purpose of this ad is to advertise Patagonia’s ‘Worn Wear’ program. The program provides an opportunity for consumers to send in their used Patagonia gear and clothing for credit. Consumers can also purchase used clothing and gear on the Worn Wear website.

“Why extend the life of gear? Because the best thing we can do for the planet is cut down on consumption and get more use out of the stuff we already own.” (Patagonia)

My concept for this ad was to advertise used Patagonia gear by “re-using” an old Patagonia ad. I designed the foundation of the ad based on vintage magazine ads and vintage Patagonia catalogs. I then created graphics that could be arranged on top of the ad, as if someone had collaged these physical artifacts together to create something new.
